ACTIVITIES

Activity 1

John loves to cook. He cooks everyday. He began cooking when he was a child. He prefers to cook with fresh ingredients. This summer he will start working in an Italian restaurant and he will cook different pasta dishes. Last summer he worked at a traditional French restaurant for three months. The restaurant was only open for dinner. He went to the beach every day in the morning. The Italian restaurant is open for lunch and dinner so he won’t be able to go to the beach every day. He loves the food in Savoie and he ate raclette or tartiflette every night but because he skied, he didn’t gain any weight.

This winter he will ski in Font Romeu. It is less expensive than the ski resort in Savoie. He is thinking about buying new skis this year. Activity 3

Wow! What a great car ! I didn’t know that you already bought it. You told me that you were thinking about changing your car but I never imagined that you would buy a car like this. I would love to have a car like yours. However, I would need a second car because it would be too difficult to park in the center of town and I would be afraid that someone might steal it. Also, it probably consumes a lot of gas and it would be too expensive to take on long trips. I wouldn’t want to use it offroad because it could get scratched or damaged and it would be too expensive to repair.

Actually, I don’t think I would want a car like this. I prefer a car that I don’t have to worry about and that isn’t too expensive. Are you sure that you made a good decision ?

  2. Why was the speaker surprised ?

  8. What type of car does the speaker say he prefers ?
  9. What does the speaker realize ?
  10. What does the speaker think about his friend’s decision to buy the car ?
